Conference Information:

University of California Cooperative Extension, with support from the California Department of Fish and Game, the California Sea Grant College Program, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Aquatic Nuisance Species Task Force will host an international conference on the invasive marine alga Caulerpa taxifolia (Mediterranean strain). This conference will include speakers from around the world with the goal of fostering scientific collaboration and information exchange in order to develop research, management, and education priorities for this important and problematic species.

Bringing together scientists, resource managers, industry representatives and other stakeholders to advance Caulerpa taxifolia research, management and education. National, regional, and local expertise will provide an opportunity to set priorities.

We are hosting a dinner reception on Thursday evening at the Berkeley Ferry Boat (part of the Maritime Museum) located at 1492 North Harbor Drive. Their phone number is (619) 234-9153. The reception starts at 6:30 pm and runs until 9:30pm. We will provide bus transportation from the hotel to the moored boat and back again to the hotel. Please meet outside of front of the hotel lobby starting at 6pm to take the bus to the reception site. The bus will begin shuttling people back to the hotel starting at 9pm. This reception ticket is included with your paid registration. If you plan to drive yourself to the reception, please arrive anytime after 6:30pm.
